Google buys all the power from America’s biggest new solar project

Google has agreed to buy all the initial power from Steel River, a 1.6 GW solar and battery project in Arkansas. It is larger than Google’s previous record US solar deal, but the bigger story is the pressure behind it: Google’s electricity use jumped 37% last year as its AI infrastructure expanded.
