According to the official source, adaptyv Bio says it raised a $40 million Series A to build an automated lab for agentic biology. In recent work with Anthropic, Claude designed proteins, sent designs into Adaptyv's automated wet lab, and received experimental results back.
Q2Why is the closed loop important?
Most biology models stop at prediction. Connecting a model directly to experiments lets an agent generate a design, test it, learn from the result, and run another cycle with much less human coordination.

Biology still moves at physical speed. Robots, assays, cell growth, and measurement quality determine how quickly an AI system can actually learn from experiments.
